About

Hello! A bit about me then? I’m currently a graduate student at the University of Central Florida. He is in the process of earning his MA in history. My research focuses on the 1960s counterculture and the Haight-Ashbury. Pulling the lens out a bit further, my research interests include post-World War II culture, (auto)mobility, and geographic perspectives on how protest groups can be understood geospatially.

Outside of academia, I’ve has written for SBNation’s TheManeland.com, MLSsoccer.com, and a variety of other sports, music, political blogs and magazines. I’ve been lucky enough to has appear on a number of podcasts including The Mane Land’s “Pawed Cast,” Once a Metro’s “Red Bull Rant’s “and Last Word on Sports Soccer podcasts.

I’ve been attending soccer games in the United States since the heyday of the NASL and my parents assure me I’ve seen Pele, George Best, Johan Cruff, Rodney Marsh, and Franz Beckenbauer play but he was too young to honestly remember. I’ve also been lucky enough to play most of my life at a number of levels, none of which are all that impressive. Currently I’m a season ticket holder for Orlando City, and very clearly remember their first game in 2011 which I will tell you about given half a chance.
